Welcome to the Walsh Family History home page. This page gives an overview of the Walsh Family history, immigrating from Ireland, to Toronto, Canada and settling in Chicago, Illinois in 1892.
This page also contains census extracts, names and dates from various sources, pieces of history, and family connections for the following surname's: Walsh, King, Dillon, Hayes, Burns, Casey, and Kearney.
The individuals documented on this site should be remembered for more than just names and dates. These individuals were not rich and famous, just ordinary people of the times they lived. They all originated from Ireland and converged in Chicago. Over time, various members of all these families meet and married. They worked on the railroad, they were common "Laborers", and housewife's, and they worked in the steel mills of Chicago. Life for the common "Irish" was hard in 1870-1900 Chicago. The one goal they all had in common, as today, was to make the lives of their children, better than their own and remember those who came before them.
